Industrial design is a process of designing physical products that are to be manufactured by mass production. It involves determining and defining a product's form and features, which takes place in advance of the manufacture or production of the product. Industrial designers combine art, business, and engineering to develop the concepts for manufactured products. They work in a variety of industries and may travel to testing facilities, design centers, clients’ exhibit sites, users’ homes or workplaces, and places where the product is manufactured.1 Industrial design is a strategic problem-solving process that drives innovation, builds business success, and leads to a better quality of life through innovative products, systems, services, and experiences.
